The Calendar of Events is intended for use by families in New Hanover County.  Community event organizers in New Hanover County are invited to submit events for this calendar.

All announcements and events are subject to change at the discretion of the designated website calendar administrators.  Smart Start of New Hanover County (SSNHC) reserves the right to refuse any submission at the administrators' judgment. 

The following guidelines will be used to determine whether a post is appropriate for SSNHC's community calendar:

• Smart Start of New Hanover County's funded partner events will receive preference.
• Only Non-profit events and public agencies will be considered.
• Events associated with or sponsored by religious organizations will not be accepted.
• Events must directly involve children ages 0-5 and their families.
• Events that promote active engagement between children and parents/care givers.
• Events that encourage social, emotional or physical development for children and their families are preferred.

Smart Start of New Hanover County is very thankful for everyone who gets involved in the life of a young child. Please browse our calendar for ideas on how you can be involved.  We have listed events in which Smart Start of NHC is directly involved in some way.  We recognize that there are many other great events in our community that are not mentioned in our community calendar.  We have listed below some links to community organizations where you may find other great opportunities to be involved with or for children.
