Description :  Educators of young children receive support in their endeavors to further their professional development.  Academic consultation, enrollment assistance, and monetary incentives are provided to increase the education levels of those working in licensed child care. 

 

Community Support

  • Information about Early Childhood programs at colleges and universities
  • Application and registration assistance at community colleges
  • Information about the education component of the star-rated license
  • Assistance with developing professional portfolios
  • Applications for TEACH scholarship and WAGE$ salary supplement
  • Assistance with developing professional development plans
  • Assistance with accessing financial support

 

Incentive

Professional Development Incentive

  • Available for individuals working towards their Early Childhood Associate/Bachelor's Degree or B-K Licensure while working in licensed child care
  • Stipend issued after fall and spring semesters

Models of Excellence

  • For licensed child care centers
  • Center receives computer work station and stipend if at least two staff (who are enrolled in early childhood degrees) are given paid release time each week to use the work station or attend class
