A Picture’s Worth 1000 Words: Using Visuals in Early Childhood Classrooms

Instructor: M. Santos

How do you get young children to listen? Is it a magic phrase, a secret potion, or maybe…a picture? Perhaps young children aren’t ignoring us at all – they simply don’t yet have the tools to see what we’re saying. In this workshop, we’ll explore how and why children think in pictures, not words. Participants will gain practical strategies for incorporating visuals into daily routines.

This workshop is for early childhood educators only.

Credit hours: 1.5

This workshop is at a new workshop location: NHC Government Center located at 230 Government Center Drive, Room 155.
