Parents and caregivers of children birth to five have access to books, learning materials, and a play space for their little ones.
Early educators and child care providers have access to books, activity kits, and low-cost supplies for their classrooms.
Walk-ins are welcome and no appointment necessary.

We offer annual memberships for families, educators, and child care center groups for a nominal fee between $5-$25 per year.

Membership Options
Family Membership
For a $5 annual fee, families have access to:
- Theme kits with educational toys and materials
- A wide variety of books and materials available for check out
- A two week trial membership to the Wilmington Children’s Museum & Cape Fear Museum
- Laminating supplies and equipment
- Die cut machine
Early Childhood Professional Membership
For a $5 annual fee, professionals have access to resources to enhance classroom instruction:
- Classroom theme boxes with educational toys and materials and small outdoor equipment
- Curriculum guides
- Videos and DVDs
- Bulletin board paper
- Laminating supplies and equipment
- Die cut machine
Child Care Center Group Membership
- 10 individuals or less– $15
- 11-19 individuals– $20
- 20 or more individuals–$25

Single Memberships

- Download and complete the Group Membership Application and Staff Snapshot forms.

Smart Start of NHC accepts all major credit cards, checks and money orders. By clicking ‘Pay Now’ I understand there will be a $25 credit card refusal fee if stop payment is issued.
